Reader
I want to take you back to the day everything changed.
April 17th, 2021, started like any other Saturday. I was doing my regular morning mom things, prepping to head to my husband’s farewell event, even got all cute and slipped into my heels. And then... I had a stroke.
But here’s the kicker—there were no signs.
☕ The Morning That Felt Normal
I woke up, posted in my Mamas and Coffee® group, took my daughter to her riding lesson, came home, showered, got dressed, and even took a quick power nap before the event.
Totally normal stuff. Zero warning. Not a headache, not a tingle, not a hint of what was coming.
I was cracking jokes, kicking my leg up for goofy pics with my husband (because that’s who I am—the goofy one), and enjoying life.
💥 But Then, Everything Changed
No red flags. Nothing felt off.
I didn’t know I was having a stroke. And I wouldn’t have known...
But God.
God placed me around the right people—my husband’s coworkers, my now-beloved Team G—who noticed something wasn’t right and stayed with me.
They didn’t dismiss me. They didn’t walk away. They made sure I got the help I needed. And for that—I give all glory to God.
🧠 Why I’m Telling You This
Because you need to know:
👉 Strokes don’t always come with classic warning signs.
👉 You’re never “too young” or “too healthy.”
👉 Sometimes it’s the smallest changes that mean the most.
Reader, if my story helps even one person speak up or get checked out sooner, then sharing this is worth every tear.
Thank you for being here. For reading. For caring.
This journey is personal, but it’s also a mission.
I hope my words encourage you to advocate for yourself, love yourself deeply, and always keep asking questions. Watch the video here.
☕ Help Keep the Conversations Brewing If this week's newsletter touched you, made you pause, or taught you something new—consider supporting Stroke Talks through Buy Me A Coffee.
Every “coffee” helps fuel the mission: to raise awareness, offer hope, and remind stroke survivors and their loved ones that they are not alone.
Plus, let’s be real… this girl runs on Jesus, joy, and just a little bit of caffeine. 😄
☕💜 Thank you for helping me keep the conversations going.
